Hello! My name is Courtney. I'm a published automotive photojournalist and creative photographer based in the San Francisco Bay Area. I have always found myself drawn to the arts, language, and history. I picked up my first camera about eight years ago, and haven't stopped shooting and learning since.
Cars have always been more of an art form than a locomotive from point A to point B, and I strive to portray that mantra in each body of work that I create. Classic cars specifically carry a sense of nostalgia and character that cannot be recreated, which is why they show up in just about everything I shoot. In addition to the machines, I love documenting the people who bring them to being. It's the builders who breathe life into the lifeless, and each one has a valuable story to tell. In placing the bulk of my photographic content on cars, I surround myself with what I love.
While I maintain a focus in automotive photography, I am more than thrilled to shoot portraiture, weddings + elopements, lifestyle, and much more (I have a particular love of fashion + bridal work)! If you're looking for my non-automotive portfolio, you can find it here: Courtney Mae Photo.
Lastly, below you will find a video about my work, produced by BMW Group Classic. In it, I discuss what I do, why I do it, and why it's important to me. My hope is that you will not only enjoy the video, but that it will reinforce the passion that I have for both photography and for cars.
